Galaxy Note 8
Hi all,
Hope someone can help. My Note 8 has been draining the battery lately. It was fully charged this am around 8:30. It is now 4:49 and I'm at 42% battery. The thing has not been used all day. Just sitting idle. When I check running apps, nothing is showing running. Is there a way I can find out what is draining the battery or do I have to reset the thing to like new? Thanks, Carol |

Try GSam battery monitor. It should give you an idea of what's draining your battery.

Battery
You don't need any app.
Verify "Settings / Battery", you will find something like what you can see in the screen-copy below. Android 4.4.2. Last edited by bathop; 11-13-2014 at 05:48 PM. |

The battery is not showing any app really consuming a lot of power. I went through and deleted some app. Some others I did a Force Stop on. My battery is showing right now: Google Play services - 65% Screen - 14% Internet - 8% com.amazon.kindle - 3% SlotsPharaohsWay - 3% Android System - 2% Device idle - 2% I can understand it draining if I am using it, but it drains a lot even when I am not using it. Thanks, Carol |

This seems weird....my device idle time says 33%. Isn't that a lot?

Look to Me like Google Play services is the culprit. Uninstall it and reboot it should redownload a fresh copy. My guess is it corrupted.
