Blank Page When Trying to Edit Book

I right click on the book, hit "edit book". The page opens and is totally blank, except the icons, drop down, and the message about "click on a file to the left..." There is NO file to the left to click on! Previously, I did not have this problem. It is just now that I can not click on a file to edit! Please help.

Does the (active) Tab at the column bottom say 'Files Browser' ?

You mean the "alter tag browser" tab? I don't know where else it would be.

The "tab" that gets opened as a result of "edit book" is does not have anything on it saying files browser.

Click the View Menu and enable the Files Browser

I found if I put something in the dock space (eg left edge) as the Files Browser as the left most Tab then it will be the default tab when the editor starts eg

So I ensure the panels I want to see in shared dock spaces when editor starts are the first items in the dock spaces.

Alter Tag Browser is part of the MAIN Calibre GUI. (And it is a BUTTON)

You said EDITOR (T key to launch)
