Good question. It's just a redirect to www.mobileread.com. I wouldn't know of any other use for it right now.

Could be useful as an indexed redirect for books in the self-promotion forum. I mean say you're looking for a book in the horror genre for example then you would go to the horror tab, mysteries, the mystery tab etc.

In the end its just a name to translate into the actual IP. The .community idea makes a lot of sense as this is a community and not really a business which most of .com is. I like the ebook part too. Gets a

I think the word 'forum' needs to be reflected, and I suppose that 'community' does that.

I'm so used to the phrase Mobileread that I don't want to consider the change, and yet ebook.community probably does say it all.

I much prefer MobileRead over a generic ebook.community.

And it reflects the content of a lot of the posts as well. I mean ebooks are mobile and are meant to be read, and a large percentage of posts are directly about ebooks in one way or another. Still others are about the different readers on which they might be read. Why mess with perfection?
