It turns iPad into typewriter. Hulk happy. No smash.

Lovely. Typos in a screenshot are a bit more difficult to correct before everyone sees them, but this really is a neat app.

I soon found out that if you wanted to save documents, you needed to upgrade. Not so neat, but still worth the four something that the upgrade costs. Tricky, though.

Using whiteout can be a bit problematic after the first page. I had a typewriter once with a split ribbon containing black and whiteout. Backspace can work on a typewriter.

Do you mean electric typewriter? The only electronic ones I know were word processors or hooked to a computer. Actually the ribbon would work on either a manual or electric but was easiest on an electric with overstrike ability.

Oh gosh, I want that Bluetooth typewriter.

We have an electronic typewriter manufactured by Brother that my dad uses to type on things. I used to play with one at my friend's parents work too back in the 90's.

Talk about noisy ... you ain't heard nuthin' yet!

Here's a video of the FRIDEN Electro-Mechanical Calculator we used back in 1970 at a large U.S. corporation. Begin watching at 5:30 minutes into the video to hear the racket caused by multiplication. We had to make sure a co-worker at a nearby desk wasn't on the telephone!

I think they used the sound of a selectric typwriter or selectric printer. There are U-tube videos of them in motion. All of the IBM 360's actually used a selectric typewriter/printer for a console. Very distinct sound as the ball spun and printed.
