The Kindle is actually my second e-book device. Previously, I was the very happy owner of a Sony Reader. Then the screen broke and after dealing with the company, that was that. Until now...

I am happy to own the Amazon Kindle. It seems very adequate.

One thing: I want page numbers. Those I understand, unlike location numbers or whatever it is that the Kindle uses. The Reader did that well.

Still this is a nice device and I would love to do much reading thereon.

I feel you pain about the page numbers. However from what i understand, the problem is a bug in the underlying Mobi reader that both the Kindle and Gen3 Use.

So Its probably not going to be fixed without a major update.

I loved my Sony. I do not remember for sure which model it was. It was the first generation format with the numbers across the bottom. However, I think that it was a second run of it or something, because I seem to remember the model number being slightly different.

In fact, I nearly bought a Sony this time around as well. After all, I already had a few books for it. AND I knew that I really liked the device. In the end I chose a Kindle. We'll see how that choice pans out.
