List of Books in Calibre Companion

I have about 50 books in Calibre Companion. I've been having problems with my tablet, and foresee yet another factory reset.

Is there any way to easily get a list of books I've loaded into CC? It would make life so much easier for those folks either restoring from factory specs, or those installing CC on a second device.

Thanks!

What I would do is to have CC connect as a wireless device, and then use the Reading List plugin to create a custom list based on what is on that device.

Then it should be trivial to retransfer what is on that list back to the device.

The easiest way to do this is to connect as a wireless device to calibre, in calibre search for ondevice:true, then use bulk metadata edit to add a tag or something like that to each book to mark the book as being on the device. Then after the reset, again connect as a wireless device to calibre, select all books with the tag (or whatever) and send those books to CC. This method assumes that all the books in CC come from the same calibre library.

Another option that would work if your books are epubs would be to save the contents of CC's book folder somewhere (cloud, SD card, ???). After the reset, restore the books then connect as a wireless device to calibre. CC will scan the books and try to match them with the books in calibre's library.

With 50 books, another brute force approach would be to take screen captures of CC's grid view. Depending on the cover size and the device size, perhaps 1 to 3 screen captures would be enough.
