Freezing Glo

I am running 3.3.0 on my Glo and have constant problems with it freezing. I can just about manage to read 3 or 4 pages before I have to do a soft-reset with a paperclip. I have also had this problem with previous versions of the software which were solved by doing a factory reset and going back to a previous version. However, I don't want to do that again and I don't understand why I should need to. I like the features of the newer versions (pocket) and don't want to lose them.

I also have the problem of the device not recognising that it should be asleep overnight (put to sleep with both the cover and the button) and therefore draining the battery.

When I first purchased my Glo just over a year ago, I was so happy with it, now I'm starting to think I should just throw it away and buy a Paperwhite!

Is anyone else having the same problems and is there a way around them?

If it were me, I would do a factory reset and update to current firmware; and try sleeping it overnight without the cover or in a different cover.

I'm assuming that you haven't overloaded the device with books, you've tried different books from different sources, and so on.

Yep, books are from different sources, cover is an original Kobo one, there are only 30 books on the device. I'll try a factory reset again and see if anything's different!

Factory reset done, 3.3.0 installed. I've taken the Kobo out of it's sleepcover. It's still freezing after every 3-4 pages aaaaaahhhhhhhh!

It could be the specific book you are reading. I've had that happen to me on a Glo. Once I was done with the book and deleted it, I have not since had the Glo freeze even once.

I've got a couple of books on the go at the moment and it's happening with both of them, it's also happened before with previous firmware and books. I'm starting to think it doesn't like the heat out here!

But, let's hope that you're right and the problem disappears once I finish this tome.

I've finished and removed the book I was having a problem with and the problem seems to have, mostly, gone away. Since doing this I have only had two freezing incidents and they were both solved by turning the power off and then on again - still not perfect but definitely better than before.

my koboglo freezes also at the end of each chapter. only when i read outdoors.
so i make bookmarks, and when it freezes, i reset the device by holding the powerbutton for a long time, and it starts right there with my latest bookmark.
