Hide-A-Column

I have created a column similar to "On device" for when my Kindle is not attached to Calibre, so that I know what's on it at all times.
Is there a way for me to have the column automatically "hide" once calibre sees that my Kindle has been plugged in?

If not, does anyone have a better suggestion on how I can know what's on my Kindle when its not attached, besides having/maintaining two "On Device" columns?

Please & Thank You.

I don't think so. But I believe there is a plugin that can save customized configurations which you can bind to shortcut keys, including show/hide columns.

EDIT: [GUI Plugin] View Manager
