req: autofetch/list for books with missing metadata
I'm finally starting to move my ebooks to calibre, but a lot are still missing metadata. Would it be possible to list these books in some way and then have them autofetch the metadata.
Now I have to open each book, "fetch metadata", edit things and then save. I can see some automation possibility there ![]() I wouldn't mind if the program just do a fetch for x books each x minute, to prevent exhausting the metadataservers, as long as it's automated. I'd just leave calibre running for the night, edit at day and hopefully have my library updated after a few weeks. |

Then just highlight all the results and bulk fetch metadata. You can add any other bit of metadata and do a false search like: Code:
cover:false or comments:false |

After using the search term comments:false I get the books with missing comments. However I do not know how to select all of these (which are not listed together) to start the bulk download of metadata?
They are already highlighted but if I then select bulk metadata only one book is listed. |

You necroposted
If you set Calibre to not 'Highlight search results', it is easy because only the results show: Ctrl-A (select all) BTW the Quality check PI has many useful Metadata checks |
