Adobe Digital editions doesn't remember me

(I couldn't find a more appropriate spot for this. Mods please move if it belongs somewhere else.)

That's about it. I bought a book at Kobo last night encumbered with Adobe DRM. When I attempt to get it Adobe Digital Editions opens up, asks me if I'd like to finish downloading the book, then stops and gives me a window with an error message:

"Error getting license
Server communication problem: E_ADEPT_USER_AUTH"

I had no trouble the day before yesterday. I tried authorizing my computer (again) but it won't recognize my password. I clicked on the "I forgot my password" link and it claims to have emailed me instructions, but that was at least 10 minutes ago, and I haven't gotten an email yet.

Is anyone else having a problem?

EDIT: Okay, I just re-downloaded the book from 2 days ago, no problem. There are two copies in my library now.

But the new book still refuses to download.

That error message happens to me sometimes, especially when I've dragged a bunch of .acsm files onto ADE at once (usually after I've done some batch-buying at Kobo).

Thus far, what's worked for me is to locate which one of the .acsm files which didn't go through, drop it onto ADE again, and it works the 2nd time.

Mind you, I don't know if I've been having whatever issue you've been having which may be unrelated to getting ADE to process too many things at once.

I get it too with Kobo or Overdrive now and then. It's just a too busy hiccup. Wait a bit and try again.

Sometimes it helps to do it on a different PC I don't why it just does Or Go into your My Digital Editions folder and look to see if the book is in there if so delete and try again. I had a book that downloaded but ADE thought it didn't so once deleted it downloaded right and opened. You can also delete your TASK folders in My Digital Editions to clear up pending stuck tasks.

It wasn't Adobe, it was Kobo. After playing a few games they determined that there's a problem. I opted for the refund.

BTW, since I wouldn't trust Kobo to remove it from their store while they're addressing the problem, I'd stay away from Swift Justice, by Jan Dunlap.
