Aura Any chance of a new Aura this year?

I've got Kindle Voyage envy.

However, the price is a little too high for what I would pay for a 6 inch reader. Does Kobo have a response to the Voyage or are they just sticking with the H2O and last year's Aura?

Me, too. I would LOVE to buy an Aura with a Carta screen. I don't care if it's waterproof, I just want Carta, and hopefully a higher DPI, too. I would prefer this over the H2O.

The Voyage can sail without me....those page turn buttons are unattractive. And no way should it cost more than a premium Kobo HD or H2O.

Anyway if Kobo wants to use the same screen Amazon is using in the Voyage, they will probably have to wait at least 6 months. Simply because the supply won't be there. But they could use the Carta screen in the PW2 any time now. I would love that.

Aura HD Lite? Aura HD Mini? I haven't had enough coffee to come up with anything else. I just know I want one, whatever they call it.

I wonder what the future for Kobo in Australia is. Bookworld/A&R always seem to be out of stock of the newer models, JBHifi have never had the Aura (only the HD), HN advertise most models on their website but our local only ever has the touch and mini. Collins Books have reduced their line to AuraHD, touch and Arc. Seems the retail partners aren't really keeping up to date with the Kobo devices.

And the H20 isn't available for pre-order in Australia yet either.

The Mini is very likely dead in all possible versions. Reports from those with official contacts on it said it didn't sell well and likely wouldn't see a reboot.

One would think if they were going to refresh the Aura this year they'd have done it at the same time as the H2O, but it also makes sense not to try to compete directly with the Kindle Voyage if they couldn't at least come close on the specs so maybe it will come out later this year or early next.

I wasn't talking about the discontinued Kobo Mini. I was trying to think of a name for an updated Aura.

So i also want to update a new version for aura ,
and it againsts kindle voyage.

because the Kobo is better for font setup and content display technology than Kindle.
As same as the form of device is different with Kindle, i like Kobo.
Althought i have kindle keyboard,touch,kpw1 and kobo mini.

I want to buy the kobo aura or new aura version,not kindle voyage.

OP you've read our minds. I was ogling Amazon's next Kindle, but that's just it - I want a Kobo equivalent. Same or higher ppi, with a slick slimness, leaving those physical page-turners out. Ahh, one can dream.

As it so happens, I need to appropriate my Kobo Touch for retirement, and its replacement should definitely be a sibling.

I'm thinking about this again. Surely Kobo needs to respond, at least in Japan. They don't seem to be bringing the H2O over here (too big?) and now Amazon will have a premium reader going up against Kobo's slightly long in the tooth Aura.
