Apparently, they travel to places including Mexico, the Phillipines, Thailand, Uganda & Kenya, and Germany, so this may be of additional interest to readers who are curious about how conditions in those countries might have changed over the decades. Mind you, it does take a rather long time to get to the actual roadtrip portions as the author seems to spend the first half of the book setting up the decision to become missionaries in the first place, from the impression I got via skimming the opening.
