CC V3.5.5 has been published
CC production release V3.5.5 has been published on Google Play and Amazon.
  • Add German translation (part completed)
  • Option not to show title on grid view before showing covers (actually added in V3.5.3)
  • [BUG FIX]Fix a crash on some Kindle devices when selecting a reader app
  • [BUG FIX]Try harder not to permit downloading books in demo version when the limit is exceeded.
  • [BUG FIX]Fix crash when changing user-defined sorts after adding a sort on a custom column
  • [BUG FIX]Don't refresh book list/grid when returning after nothing was changed
  • [BUG FIX]Make dialog text visible on Gingerbread devices
Version 3.5.4 was never released on Google Play.

I hated the look of the titles when you first added it, and now I love it. i didn't like the white letters or the all caps. Now I think both perfectly convey the idea that the contents are temporary.

I'm experiencing difficulty with 3.5.5. When attempting to launch CC I'm meet with the "Unfortunately Calibre Companion had stopped." error. I have a copy of the debug log, only uncertain where to send.

Downloaded and installed now cc crashes when opened, when press report get play store stopped. Please see screen-shots.
Have uninstall cleared all data and reinstalled, no change, Have uninstall and done a complete shut down and reboot of my tablet, reinstalled, no change. Can not send a crash log. Android 4.2.1

My debug.log.txt has no information in it post update. can send it if you want it. HAve sent debuglog to you at debug_logs@charles.haleys.org my email is mglyndell@.

My apologies.

For the first time in more than 2 years the release build process didn't work, building a flawed APK. It is apparently only the paid Google Play version that was broken, confirmed by gbm's comment. The Amazon and the Demo versions seem to be OK.

I have built a new paid-version release V3.5.5a that runs on my test devices. It is published and should be available in the next few hours.

Again, my apologies. I don't know what I did to cause this to happen, but I suspect that I didn't do something necessary between the construction of the three production versions of CC. Regardless, this won't happen again.
