moon + reader pro mini status bar not working

I have moon plus reader pro on both my samsung phone and tablet.
The mini status bar stopped working correctly on the tablet.

The bar is one of the main reasons I bought the app if fact the app - and the bar is a selling point is one of the reasons I bought android.

so on the phone - and previously on the tablet the mini status bar is a grey bar which has time on left - chapter in the middle and page progress on the right.

Now I get a small dark black rectangular box with the page numbers and it is so dark I can't read it. and none of the other stuff.
on the phone I get everything.

Any ideas?

You can customize the mini status bar colors and font in the Miscellaneous options menu. Click the options wheel next to "Show mini status bar when reading." Choosing "Reset" at the bottom first may help.

Thank you and sorry for taking so long to respond - I had already had the 'show mini bar" selected - I don't seem to have a 'reset' button -
but at any rate - it works sometimes and not other times - I just have to live with it.
