Post Looking for a Developer: PDF creation tool for our books

Hey guys, not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I figured I'd give it a shot!

We are a small publishing company that publishes a series of books. We want to create a tool that will automatically generate print-ready PDF's of our books. We are looking for a developer who can help us do this. Just a bit of info.
  • All of the books have the same layout, formatting, size, fonts, margins, etc.
We have all of the content as text.
The books are in Chinese and English.
There are key words in the story that require underlining and footnotes
There will be images inside the story content.

If there is anyone who might be able to refer anyone, please msg me directly: jared@mandarincompanion.com. Just an FYI, we are tech savvy and have developed our own tools to do other things of this nature. Thanks!

Again, sorry if this is not the right place to post this.

Framemaker from Adobe can do this out of the box. The PDF will have all of the alignment marks needed for printing.

If you can generate HTML+CSS for your books, you can use Prince to generate PDFs from the HTML. If that's not print-ready enough, you can probably post-process the PDF with some tool to create a print-ready one.

No need for proprietary tools (both gratis or quite expensive), just put XSLT + LaTeX or XSL:FO in your job description, and I guess you'll be far better off.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to apply for this offer, but theoretically I would be interested in a freely licensed, off-the-self solution for this kind of problem. Do I need to advertise my workflows here again, or have you already found them by yourself?
