Very Slow Converting PDF to Epub

I have used Calibre for a long time with no problems. Today, I'm trying to convert a 380 page pdf file (book) to epub.

So far, it's been running 25 minutes and the progress is showing 1%.

What can cause this and how can I fix it?

TIA

Wait it out

Some conversions can take 24+ hours. Most do complete in under an hour.

It is about complexity, not page count

Absolutely Save the crash log (if it happens).
Does your system have plenty of RAM? Did you tame your A/V so it does not keep checking the same book on every access.
The FAQ at the download site has good tips
