How come I still have 1.04 and not 1.08?
Even if I try to update it manually, it only allows me to get 1.04 which I already have. How come it won't upgrade to 1.08 wirelessly for me? Anyone else have this problem?

Well, I have a 1.0.4 and a 1.0.8 and don't notice the slightest bit of difference between them. Since the upgrade is not offered (and 1.0.4 was), then I'd say it a firmware change to accommodate a slight hardware change and not applicable to the 1.0.4 devices.

I read that they are exactly the same, but some of the Kindles use a slightly different bit of hardware and need a different driver. No functional difference.

There is an easy way to get 1.08. Just order a new Kindle
![]() BTW, I've heard the same as the posters above. No functional difference between 1.04 and 1.08. |
