Calibre on Nexus 7

Hi, I have Calibre on my PC and absolutely love it, just downloaded Calibre app onto my Nexus 7 - and this is probably a dumb question, but how can I get the books from my Calibre Library onto my Tablet please? I'm sure someone has probably asked this before? If you could point me in the right direction for instructions please.
Much appreciated.
Kind regards
Chris

The app you have probably downloaded is Calibre Companion which is available for Android Devices. You need to ask for help in their forum here

There is no official Calibre App.

The app I use on my Nexus 7 and my son's Asus Memopad is Calibre Companion (CC). Josieb1 points to the Calibre Companion forum here at Mobileread which contains the FAQ sticky that should answer most questions regarding CC.

If your question references a different app you will have to ask the developer of the app for assistance. The contact or help info is usually found somewhere on their Google Play App page.

Also be aware that some Android readers (like Moon+ reader, PocketBook, etc.) have built-in capabilities to access calibre (look for Net Library or similar settings).

Also it is possible to use calibre and save some books to a folder that is shared over wifi, and then connect to that share from the tablet and copy the books over. And use some eReader app to read them.

The same way you can copy any files, music, audiobooks, video, pictures, documents and whatever you like to or from your Android device. I have a share on my NAS for just this purpose. It has a folder for ebooks, but also one for audiobooks. Video I usually open directly from the NAS and watch on the Tablet. For music, and sometimes audiobooks, I use my tablet as a remote control for my old SqueezeBox devices all over the house.

Try the "ES File explorer" app, works on clouds, LANs, etc.

+1 on ES File Explorer. Last night I even got it to send a file (with absolutely no dancing around just one "Do you want to receive this file" prompt) from one ES File Explorer client to another. This thing is like magic. And I can access my cloud file storage too? This app, like calibre, should be in the Required Utility Hall of Fame.

There are really fine gems out there. Unfortunately, they are hard to find as they are so obscured by zillions of crap apps.
