Your funeral playlist?
I just saw the news that Monty Python's song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" is the most popular at British funerals. I am totally on board with that. It would be on my playlist. Here are a few other contenders for that spot with me. What would you like played at your funeral?

If I could have one song played at my funeral... If I had the courage to request this song, it'd be:
Hell by the Squirrel Nut Zippers Lol |

I've always thought that Amazing Grace would be nice. Odd choice I grant considering my views on religion, but it is a great song with a wonderful melody.
I'd want the live bagpipes though. So I'll stick to my plan. No funeral at all. Just make clear to all surviving friends and family that when I croak they should just get together and have a drink on me. |

I agree that Amazing Grace is a good choice. That or perhaps "In the Garden."

I've thought about this for the benediction:

I've always thought this would be great for a funeral. The 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony.

The problem with music at a funeral is that the guest of honor isn't around to enjoy it. Of course I don't foresee anyone finding a solution to that difficulty any time soon.

Once I'm dead, I'm dead. You can play whatever music you'd like.

To me, Cage's 4'33" would be most appropriate (especially in its full orchestral arrangement¹). It would definitely make me rest in peace² thinking I would be remembered with a certain sense of humour:

I'm thinking of the (german) song "Alles ist eins" from "Die toten Hosen".
Didn't find a youtube video with english subs, sorry. A very sad song, but I like the text, it's basically saying "Without death there can be no life." |

As I'm a fan of Two Steps From Hell and Thomas Bergersen (one of the composers of TSFH), I certainly want their music to be played.
