Odd Connection Problem with Cailbre Server

I have Calibre-Server installed on an Ubuntu 14.04 system. It runs via an upstart script at boot.

I am able to connect to the server from several computers and devices (iPhone, Android Phone, Laptop etc) with no problem. When I say connect I mean I can go to the web interface, in my case at http://192.168.1.45:8081

The only device that will not connect is my iPad Mini, which until recently connected just fine. It also cannot connect to any other web page hosted on that particular system. The connections just eventually timeout.

I doubt because of that, that this is a calibre issue, but was curious if anyone here might have an idea as to why? The iPad is connected to the same wireless network as the other systems that can successfully connect. And I can open other web pages (external) with it.

Cheers,

Robert Porter

Check if your wireless router is dual band. If so, check that either the mini is on the same band as the other devices or cross-band traffic is permitted. Also check if the router supports and enforced guest mode, and if the mini is connected as a guest.

Interesting, my router is indeed dual band, and cross-band traffic was allowed. But when I turned off the 5G radio both my iPhone and iPad could connect. Not sure why, but i did get a router firmware update around the time this became a problem.

Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction!

Cheers,

Robert
