listen to a movie
I haven't tried this, but I ran across it suggested somewhere today. I guess it falls under audiobook, sorta, so I put it here.

I don't know if this website is kosher. Did he get copyright clearances for these files?

This is a flagrant case of piracy. Please don't post links to such sites.
Thanks. |

There's no harm done, but really, if anyone stops to think about it, how likely is it that the soundtracks of major movie releases are going to be released for free download?

Just out of curiosity, who would want to do this? With the possible exception of something like "My Dinner With Andre" wouldn't this be like reading a novel with everything but the dialog cut out?

Back in the day, before VCRs, a few times I hooked up a tape recorder to the TV to record the sound of a favorite movie. |

But I guess I can see the appeal if you've already seen the movie, especially a favorite. Speaking of listening to movies, this reminds me: Do we have any sight-impaired folk among us who avail themselves of those "descriptive audio tracks" found on some DVDs these days? I tried listening to them a few times with my eyes closed and I found them horribly jarring. Anyone get value from them? |

Some transistor radios used to be available with TV bands, so you could tune in the sound of a TV broadcast. I used to listen to an afternoon soap opera this way when in school after I got hooked on it during vacation time. Again, it was before VCRs and time-shifting, so it was a way to keep up with the storylines. Since soaps are so repetitious and slow-moving and talky, it worked fairly well.

For some reason, silent movies never did well on radio
