Until We Reach Home by Lynn Austin is an historical literary drama featuring sisters immigrating from Sweden to the US at the end of the 19th century, free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Bethany House imprint.

Currently free, probably just for the next day @ Amazon UK (slated to drop in the main store), iTunes & Google Play (both available to Canadians), and ChristianBook (ADE-DRM ePub available worldwide). You can also add it to your online reading library @ BookShout, but there doesn't seem to be a non-app way to download it.

B&N normally gets these Baker freebies as well, but this and the repeat one tonight are stubbornly refusing to change price, so some linkage for your price-drop-check convenience if it gets fixed later: B&N (and UK, though they don't seem to normally get Baker freebies anyway).

And this has been the selected-by-default-because-these-Baker-things-usually-expire-in-1-day 3rd (non-repeat*) free book thread of the day.

And also because I have this inordinate fondness for cultures that produce dragon boats.

Description
Life in Sweden seems like an endless winter for three sisters after their mother's and father's suicide. Ellin feels the weight of responsibility for her sisters' welfare and when it circumstances become unbearable, she writes to her relatives in Chicago, pleading for help.

I know for sure I can't have bought it by accident because I've never put any payment info there and I would have noticed the charge on the card I normally use.

But it doesn't seem to have ever been official, since there's no record of it here via MR search or on the standard free ebook blogs.

Eh, I'm just going to call this one the Holy Glitch.

Thanks; that does help clear things up a bit if it had perhaps been a prior B&N Free Friday selection or something similar and had gotten price-matched*.

* Still doesn't explain why I wouldn't have had an Amazon copy as well if it had gone multi-store, but eh, some things in life are just not meant to be understood.
