pocketbook basic 2 vs Nook Simple vs Kindle touch 4GB (6. gen) in terms of Dictionary
Hello guys, I'm new here so I will try to properly explain exactly what I need.
I'm currently learning german so buying a e-reader would really help me. For that reason I decided to check the local stores and also my bank account and according to both, the 3 choices in the Title are the ones i'm wondering about. Basically what i'm looking for is somethin cheap, durable and something with a German-English dictionary. From i've read online, it's pretty hard to install one on Nook. With the Kindle I know that it's not that hard but i've heard bad things about this model and it's also the most expensive out of the 3 (at least here). I've heard that it's possible to install a German-English dictionary on the PocketBook Basic 2 but sadly, when I wrote them (2 months ago) they told me that the ABBY site is down and It's impossible to download the needed dictionaries. So yes, can you please guys help and tell me what you think about it? Sadly, my PC skills are not that good so I can't see myself hacking and re-programing an e-reader just to install a simple dictionary ![]() Last edited by waitwhat; 12-28-2014 at 12:53 PM. |

The Kindle has the best dictionaries.
What bad stuff have you heard about it? I would love to know since I have one. Silly me, I thought it was a great ereader but I could be wrong? ![]() ![]() |

All three of my PocketBook readers (902, 623, 840) came with De-En dictionaries, but maybe that isn't the case with the cheap Basic 2. One thing to consider with the latter model is that it doesn't have a touch screen, so you have to use the d-pad buttons to navigate over the words on the screen. If you think you will be looking up many words per page, it might be better to get an ereader with a touch screen.
