Duplicate titles and authors

When I run library maintenance I get thousands of dup titles and authors, is there a quicker way to tick them then just one at a time? The same applies to search for duplicates? Is there a bulk way to clean up these files?

Here's a trick I used.

1. set up Calibre's import duplicate checking behaviour in the Settings.
2. get the Duplicate Check plugin and run it to find the dupes
2. move (copy and delete original) the duplicates out to an empty library
3. copy them back in to your main library. The duplicate checker should take care of the dupes.

Press the button "Mark all for delete". If you don't have that button, upgrade calibre.

Brilliant! That worked so well I'm amazed. You need to make that public, post it in the FAQ's I'm sure I'm not the only one that can benefit from that tip.

Chaley thanks I didn't have that feature on my version but I do now.
