Device detection problem with Nook
Hi
I've a Nook Simple Touch which I used happily with Calibre for some time. I have just got a new pc running windows 7 and have transferred Calibre and my library across. However when I plug in the Nook Calibre doesn't recognise it. My pc does recognise the Nook is there (I can get the 'safely remove hardware and eject media' button for it ok. I have read and followd kovidgoyal's sticky post on the devices and followed the steps on there - up-to-date version, device not ignored, plugin seems fine, etc. The last is 'click debug device detection with your device attached and post the output in this forum' and I am hoping someone can help with the results of this. Thanks very much in advance: calibre 1.48 [64bit] isfrozen: True is64bit: True Windows-7-6.1.7601-SP1 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '7', '6.1.7601') Python 2.7.5 Windows: ('7', '6.1.7601', 'SP1', 'Multiprocessor Free') USB devices on system: [u'usb\\root_hub20&vid8086&pid8c2d&rev0005', u'usb\\root_hub20&vid8086&pid8c26&rev0005', u'usb\\vid_2080&pid_0003&rev_0216', u'usb\\vid_2109&pid_0701&rev_0107', u'usb\\vid_8087&pid_8000&rev_0005', u'usb\\vid_8087&pid_8008&rev_0005'] Unable to get free space for drive: E (21, 'GetDiskFreeSpaceEx', 'The device is not ready.') Windows is failing to get the free space on your device, so
calibre cannot connect to it. This is usually caused by hardware errors. You can try: 1) Trying a different USB port/cable. 2) Rebooting your device and your computer 3) Resetting your device If none of these work, you can use the 'Connect to Folder' function in calibre to connect to your device. Click the Connect/share button on the calibre toolbar and select the "Connect to folder" option. Then choose the folder on your device that you want calibre to connect to. |
