wierd doubling effect with extended touchdriver dir

in one specific book, I am seeing a most strange effect. I appreciate that teh authro of the relevant plugin which tweaks epub iunto kepub is not longer actively involced here. but I am hoping shomeone else can shed some light

what i see on AuraHD is that each h tag chapter header is printed twice.
when I intcept the converted-to-kepub code, then sure enought it is in there - see below, but it is not in the epub source,
so something in how this header line is constructed must be causing the plug-in to glitch. I have not seen it do this with any other book

is it's not going to happen to any other books then I can live with it, i would guess that the <img bit is what triggers the glitch, and that if I stripped that out of the source file, then the doubling effect would go away.
PS the gif is just a little circle thingie, it's not anything meaningful or important.

what I actually see on Aura HD is (centered) BOMB SCAREBOMB SCARE

and the same throughout the book, for each similarly constructed header

Regardless of whether or not the author is still actively supporting this, you SHOULD still post in the appropriato plugin thread to at least ensure that all issues are kept in one location (and that someone might investigate).

Additionally, why not supply a test ePub that demonstrates the issue; maybe use ePub split to split out a chapter or two, and then edit the the book to leave just headings and maybe some place holder text.

I posted here really to ask if anyone had ever seem anything similar- I was not really asking for a fix, as I know the plug-in is frozen as-is unless someone takes over its development.

I don't want to double post ( that' s against rules I think) - but I'd be happy for a mod to move the thread

as for a test book, I see no point.
Rather then me try to guess how much of an extract is allowed to be uploaded within copyright rules here... it is clearly an issue with that header code , so just paste that given line into sigil to make a "book". There are 50+ occurrences of that within the book I reckon - different words, same doubling of text in the kepub conversion. I can provide the relevent gif & any class definitions if needed.

Or anyone contacting my via PM can have a copy of the whole epub book for testing.

The Book is "Wireless" by Charles Stross.

I'll happily to & fro with extracts etc for anyone working on replicating/ debugging, but I will wait to be contacted. For now I'll just finish reading it on a tablet instead, as epub.
I checked the original also in ADE on PC & it displays correctly.

FFS. If you want people to try to FIX the issue YOU NEED to take a bif of effort to provide a test case; one that can be used.

why are we arguing. I 'm not expecting anyone to fix it for me. I can keep deleting bits of the original chapter header code until the problem goes away, if I so wish.

I reported a bug & asked if anyone else was aware of it

cybmole: Anyone who is willing to look at this to fix it, doesn't want the complete book. They want as small a sample as possible that demonstrates the problem. The code lines you posted above are probably enough to do it. But, before someone can work on the problem, they need to construct a epub, put those lines in, find a suitable image, check that the epub works. Then they can start looking at the code in the plugin. Or they need to contact you for a copy of the book. Then they are working with a sample that is much larger than needed.

If you create the test sample. post it to the plugins thread, with a reference to here and the original book, the chances of someone looking at it go way up.

just remove the gifs, which I did not care for anyway
