Ack! tv help!
I don't know if anything can be fine with this, but it's worth a try. I have a led than 10 year old Emerson that has been very lightly used. When I first had it, I used it less than 6 months and just started using it again after my survey, so about a month.
I have it hooked up through my dvr and everything seems to have been perking along fine. When I leave the house I typically leave Pandora, classical music or dog tv on. The last few times I've gotten home is just had the direct tv icon floating on the screen but when I "selected" play it came back on. Starting yesterday it came back on with no sound. I have extremely sensitive hearing so this tv had never been played loud. I have no idea how to even begin trouble shooting this. Ideas? |

I always start with the easy things first. How is the battery in the remote.....is the mute on by any chance.....are the the connections tight.....just do a general check over and most times you'll spot something.

See if you get any sound out of any other method of input.
Troubleshooting, I have found, is trying to isolate where the problem is, usually by swapping thing until you find the point that has the problem. |

I've fiddled with the remote, it will increase and decrease sound. Turning mute on and off doesn't seem to make a difference

One other thing to try. Resetting Directv. That has worked for me a few times.

Try plugging in some external speakers if the TV has an audio out as Ralph Sir Edward suggested. Even just plugging in headphones could see if the TV can generate sound and the issue is either the speaker is blown or the wiring is faulted to the speaker.

Well my issue was solved by using the tv remote and going into tv input and making adjustments from there. It did it again this morning. Guess it hates Pandora
