command line conversion docx->epub

I want to convert a single .docx file to .epub, using this batch:
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Calibre2\calibre.exe" ebook-convert d:\MV.docx d:\MV.epub

Calibre is opened and MV.docx is automatically imported but the conversion is not executed.
What could be the reason?

The first parameter is loading calibre itself. I do not think you want this - you should be calling ebook-convert directly (it is a free-standing program).

Yep -- the main calibre program only takes parameters of books to add to the library.

Note: if the book should be added to calibre and then converted, there is an option in Adding Books to autoconvert to a specific output format whenever adding books of a different format.
