Highlight search results

How can I untick this setting permanently? I have to remove the tick there all the time. Not for every search, but quite often.
Seems something I do always sets this tick back, but I have no idea what triggers this.

You can uninstall the plugins that are known offenders.

Or add back the quick switch button to the search bar/

Which plugins are known offenders? And which quick switch buttons allows me to change this setting?
