Lonesome Dove Series

Has anyone bought the complete series. Are they all good or did you buy them individually.
Reading the reviews states there are errors in the ebook versions.

Haven't read the books but enjoyed the mini series with Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones.

"Lonesome Dove" - the first book - won the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction when it came out.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I haven't read any succeeding volumes.

Lonesome Dove is a fantastic novel. Easily the best Western I have ever read and one of the best I have read in any genre. I am less of a fan of Streets of Laredo because some of the character development, particularly of Pea and Lorena seemed forced to me. I am also upset by the fact that he retroactively inserts a villain into the events of Lonesome Dove that makes no appearance in the text.

The other two novels are prequels; Dead Man's Walk is okay, but the characters do little more than walk around and react to events. Comanche Moon has a great title.. and besides that seems mostly to be the author checking boxes to fill out the back stories of the characters to get them to Lonesome Dove.
