Kobo Touch - foreign accents problem

Hi... Kobo Touch newbie here... with a download of about 40 epub books by the same author from the same source... Only problem is I'm on the second book now and any letters with any French or Spanish accents, say the é or the ñ result in say, +| or +!

..And any single quote marks result in 'yquote marks', 'yEvery time' and it's a 'yreal drag' . . .

I've tried all the default fonts in the Kobo and no change.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

What was the source? Talk to them, if this was a purchase. Or if they are public domain books, post one here for people to look at. Or if a free giveaway, post a link for people to look at. If none of the above: no-one here is going to help with pirated books.

And where did she get them from? You can't post them here unless they're public domain. Perhaps you could tell us a few titles, as a clue.
