Question Why Kobo, why can't I add my own books to my wishlist?

Why can't I add a book to my wishlist which I might find interesting?
There is no button "Add to wishlist" either on the website or Desktop Software only "Buy Now" or "Get Preview".

I can only add books to my wishlist that Kobo has picked for me and presented as "Recommended for you", "Similar…", "Featured", or "New Releases".
Only those books have a "pin" button to add them to the wishlist. Books I very often don't like at all or don't match my (lack of) taste.

While I can't add (manually) books to my wishlist that I've come across. Books that I like or consider buying at a future date. Books that do match my reading preferences.

That's one more reason I've gravitated away from purchasing my books directly from Kobo. You can pin your own selections to your wishlist from the device (or could last time I tried), but that's not my preferred way to browse for books on any ereader that I've owned.

Agreed. I don't understand why they don't have their apps & website standardized with something like this.

This annoys me too. It also means less money in Kobo's pocket. I know myself well enough to know that if I had a long wishlist, I would be purchasing books faster, but since I only have 3 in there (since Kobo's recommendations are very hit and miss), I never even really look at the wishlist, since I don't feel the pressure of managing a long list that needs culling!

Another major annoyance is that you cannot delete a preview of a book and keep it in your wishlist. If you delete a preview and you have the book in your wishlist, the wishlist also gets deleted. WTF is there not a dialog box that pops up (if the book is also in your wishlist) asking you if you ALSO want to delete it from your wishlist. Just because I don't want the preview listed in my library any more does not mean I don't want the book period. Also they could add a dialog box to ADD the book to your wishlist if it ISN'T already there and you delete a preview.

Ah, so that explains the missing books from my wishlist. I was really confused as to why 6 books I added to my wishlist disappeared. Very annoying

I never understood people who mentioned a wish list, for I never could find the option. I simply added a preview to my library and considered that my wish list. Ah, if only Kobo would glance for a moment at Amazon. Better a good copy than a bad original...

Why would someone use a retailer wishlist? Wouldn't it mean you have to add each book to each wishlist at a dozen different retailers? Surely it is much simpler to use a site like www.luzme.com or similar and maintain just one wishlist.

I only buy books from Kobo.com (at this time), so I don't really maintain a wishlist at all. I add a book here and there if I see one I like, but mostly, I buy things when I see them.
