Refresh Device Library After Changing "Scanned Folders"
Hey all,
Very new here and to calibre, but have slowly been getting my bearings. Ran into an issue that I have had no luck resolving on my own or from searching the forum. I plugged in my Android phone (Nexus 4) and was asked if I wanted calibre to manage. I selected yes and it proceeded to scan my phone main memory. Great, no worries. Or so I thought. Now the device library screen as shown in calibre is filled with items of various formats (rtf, pdf, etc.) that I have NO desire to see in calibre. And of course, selecting "Remove from Device" deletes the file ON the device. I've since updated the device scan to only be for folders where I will keep my books (epub format only), but I can't figure out how to remove all the other offending items from the device library view in calibre WITHOUT deleting the files, which I don't want to do. How do I refresh my device library to remove the old items and rescan based on the new folder options? Or remove listings without deleting the files? Can I delete a db somewhere and start fresh? Or reset the device in calibre with a clean slate? I thought this response might work, but can't find any "reset" option: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...19&postcount=2 My current calibre library is small (only 13 epubs) but I want to figure this out before I import more so I don't exacerbate the problem. Any help would be very appreciated. System Details:

Just delete metadata.calibre in the root folder of the device, which caches the results of previous scans.

Thanks, Kovid. I had tried that before, but may not have properly had my scan settings set. I'll try it again today to see.

My scan settings were incorrect - I was including my top level Dropbox folder on the phone which had all of the offending file types. Removed that, deleted the metadata.calibre file, plugged phone in and it worked like a charm
Many thanks. |
