Extracting author's name for books
Is there a plug in or tweak for extracting author's name from a book so that you don't have to update the metadata on each if you have a number with unknown in the author's name column? I've got a large number of old fan fictions that I want to sort out with proper author's name in the column but want to avoid doing it the hard way if possible.

As far as I know only with importing books. This is a function I sometimes miss too.
Similar as for take over a book cover after import. This is maybe something for Kovids huge users wish list
