Question on News

For the first time, I've told Calibre to retrieve the news using one of the supplied formulas. I was surprised when I connected my Kindle that all the downloaded news was delivered to the Kindle. I had to manually delete each and every one. I cannot find an option which tells Calibre to NOT send the news to the device unless I specifically select it. Is there some way to control this behavior?

OK -- based on your reply, I took another look at Preferences --> Behavior

The only news-related option in this panel is whether the news is deleted from Calibre after it is delivered to the device.

In Preferences --> Sending books to device, there are no options related to News.

I did find a tweak in Preferences --> Tweaks as "send_news_to_device_location", but the only valid values are "main", "carda", "cardb". I thought of picking a non-existent location, but the help info says that it there's not enough space in the selected location, the news will be sent to the location with the most space available. Since I don't WANT the news sent automatically to my Kindle, there doesn't seem to be an option for that. (I want a "none" option.)

Ah!! Now I see it. I would swear that I had carefully read every option on this panel, but obviously I had not. Thanks for being patient with me.
