Author Farley Mowat Dead At 92

http://o.canada.com/news/farley-mowat-442130

Some of my earliest favorites were by Farley Mowat. "Never Cry Wolf", "A Whale For the Killing" and "Owls in the Family" are among the most influencial books to me when I was young.
Many of his books inspired in me a love for the outdoors and wildlife that persists very strongly to this day.

Never Cry Wolf was probably my first "outdoor" book. I was both attracted and repelled by his description of eating mice to prove that the wolves could survive on just mice all winter long. Now I'm going to have to try and find a copy of that book.

Never Cry Wolf was a great book, and one that had a huge impact on me. I agree, Jerry -- time to look for a copy and reread it.

Wow, I thought he was going to live forever. I've only read his war books (And No Birds Sang and My Father's Son) but they were both great reads.
