New way to read...be nice to try on my Glo!

Anyone see this yet?...looks pretty slick...be nice if it worked on Kobo Glo!

Seems like a natural for e-readers.....you click the demo at the link to start it (and change the speed w/ the drop-down box to the right), or just watch the video...

Not at all sure this is suited to the sink class display.

"... and track user interaction with their content." Is this why you see it as a natural for Kobo? You could have a point there.

It basically means changing the e-ink page every word. Even if your refresh is set to 99, that still would seem like a big battery drain.

Unless someone makes a tiny 3" wide x 1" tall ereader, since you only see one word at a time. But even then that means a tinier battery able to hold less and big battery drain.

I was thinking to port it to koreader some day or another. It could be a nice way to go through some boring parts

I thought only portions of the screen can be refreshed with e-ink? For example, bringing up the clock, and it goes away in a couple of seconds.

That is... possibly the most annoying thing I've seen this week.

I felt like I couldn't look away to blink/rest my eyes/check why the dog was agitated/pat the cat. The barrage of words increased my tension instead of relaxing me. I felt like I was being advertised to. As well as dry/burning eyes, I was left with a nastily persistent afterimage from keeping my eyes constantly in the one place.

And I already read faster than their fastest setting, when I'm trying to read fast. But what happens in natural reading is that I'll read faster, then slower, then re-read a short passage, then pause briefly to consider what I've read, and so on. This tech makes all of that more difficult.

So, yeah, good luck with that.

I agree with this. It's a cool concept, but not really suitable for "pleasure" reading. Maybe it can be implemented with text messages or email. But I can never see this happening with books/novels. I also like to pause, savor scene, reread it, make sure I understand it before moving to the next paragraph. This just feels like information overload to me. I wouldn't be really able to enjoy a book this way.

But, still, it's a cool concept and I'm sure they'll come up with a more practical way to use this.

I had a program like this for my Palm years ago. It left you exhausted after a use of more than a few minutes.
