Looking for Cyberpunk?
So I'm a fan of the shadowrun tabletop game, and recently -really- started wanting some cyberpunk stuff to read.
I hunted out Neuromancer and... frankly the last few chapters were just amazingly disappointing. Anyone got any Cyberpunk recommendations aside from that one? ![]() |

I got for you an awesome cyberpunk manga you can read, BLAME! by Tsutomu Nihei.
I attached few images so you can see. Art alone is amazing, and this thing is one of a kind. I highly recommend it. |

Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll look into it, but I am really looking for more 'actual books,' as I use a text-to-speech program to read them to me at work.

Just to give a lesser known title, I enjoyed Fate's Mirror by M H Mead. It was a bit of a romp, but had the cyberpunk trappings and was very entertaining.
More mainstream now, but I really enjoyed Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. |

A romp just means it was fun if you didn't try to take it too seriously.

the Odyssey series by Arthur C Clark is very good. not cyberpunk so much as Si-Fi/Space-Fantacy but one of the main characters is a supercomputer named Hal.

Try another classic, Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash.

I love all of William Gibson's books. I understand how you felt about the end of Neuromancer, but I'd still recommend Mona Lisa Overdrive and Pattern Recognition.
Although not really cyberpunk, China Meiville's early books have a real cyberpunk feel, particularly Perdido Street Station and The Scar. |

I like to also recommend Charles Stross, like Glasshouse, but his work is best appreciated after some grounding in the field. He can be merciless (thinking of Accelerando).
Vernor Vinge wrote some more digestable but excellent cyberpunk, like True Names. |

Wow, this took off a bit! Thanks for the suggestions. Snow crash is at the top of my list- a bit wary of more gibson. I've got a list to work through now!
