This is a great device and I'm sure you can find a lot of relevant posts in this section of the forum (that one for instance).
Do you have more specific questions?

It depends on what you are looking for. The Mini is small and light, and the text is nice and dark. It can hold over 1000 books. It is not lighted. I recommend it, I have 2 of them and they are my favorites for taking in my purse to go places in the day time. I love the small size! Others complain that they have to turn the page too often because the screen is so small.

I have one, but I've never used it.

Wouldn't it be crazy if I stopped there? After all, the above sentence is completely true. So I'll add more:

It arrived in Peru while I am currently in the U.S. taking care of some issues. -- I look forward to playing around with it when I return (if someone can pry my hands away from my brand new Kobo Aura HD!)

Hi,
About a year ago, I bought two for my daughters. So far, I have not had any problems with them. The 5-inch screen is enough to read between periods casual and lightweight. I would not recommend it as a reader of regular use. If you are a 40+ years old -like me-, I would recommend Kobo Touch, at least.

Advantages: small, light, easy to carry, enough memory to store 1,000 books, more than enough. Very easy to read screen, good contrast, good definition.

Cons: it seems that Kobo will not be updating the firmware.

Best regards,

I wholeheartedly second all of this. I normally keep my Mini in my purse for out and about reading. I've been reading on it full-time since I broke my Glo, while waiting on my Aura HD to arrive. I am noticing that I turn the page very frequently due to the small screen size and the large-ish font size that I use. While this doesn't bother me for reading in smaller chunks, such as my lunch break at work, it is annoying to me when reading in longer stretches. That is definitely something to take into account.

I absolutely love my Mini as a secondary reader to keep with me. I personally wouldn't want to use it as my primary reader.

I've said how much I love the Mini in various posts on this forum. It is my reader that I have with me out of the house. As such, it gets more use than any of my other readers. I love the form factor of the Mini. It is very easy to read on and I have not had one iota of trouble with it. I do wish that they upgrade the firmware sometime in the future, but I'm not holding out any hope about that. I am going to get another Mini soon, so that I can have it as a backup. It's a great little reader.

This sums up my thoughts pretty well (except for the back up part).
The Mini was my first experience with Kobo and it's not stranger to the fact that I bought another Kobo device when I was looking for something to read on at nights.

I's 65 now with poor close vision solved by using reading glasses and Kobo Mini is always with me handy for reading. Maybe I will buy Aura HD or some other reader with front light. I will definitely buy spare Mini but don't like buying from ebay.

The Mini has only one drawback from me, the absence of a light.

For the rest, it is a great device, crisp screen, and (I you are prepared to muck around with it), it runs all the hacks that the other devices can run, meaning that it works very well even with pdf files (with the hack), in spite of a 5" screen. There are other 5" on the market, but none is as small as the Kobo Mini, as far as I know.

It is a good device especially if you install some readers to put it in landscape. Love it.
