As a Chinese, I like kobo aura much more than kindle paperwhite and I bought one, but the problem is aura do not support Chinese.

So the question is there any plan to support Chinese?

By "not support Chinese" do you mean that the menu isn't displayed in Chinese or that you can't read a book written in Chinese?

If that's the second one, have you tried the ryuumin (or is it ryumin) font? It works great with Japanese characters, so I always assumed it was the right one for CJK characters.

Edit: Gothic works great on Japanese ebooks too

There was some rumors that Rakuten would sell Kobo in Taiwan:

http://www.bnext.com.tw/article/view/id/30118 (Chinese)

If that's true, maybe we can hope a Chinese interface on Kobo

BTW, Ryumin may not be a good choice on reading Chinese; it does not include enough Chinese characters.

Good to know (both for Taiwan and Ryumin). Have you tried the document default font? Is the text displayed well then?

I've put some screenshots below.

For the Morisawa fonts (Ryumin / Gothic), they actually look quite good, if they don't lack some characters ("拋", in this case). (In fact, they lack characters less than I remembered; maybe Kobo had been patching them?)

The default style is the interesting one. For some of my books, it uses Ryumin. For the others (like here), it uses a really small font, which seems like a fallback font in Kobo system. It also lacks some characters.

The font I use for my Kobo is a modified version of Arphic PL UMing (20% bolder than the original one), in which the "拋" is present.

Please note that these are traditional Chinese texts. I don't have simplified Chinese books right now, so I'm not sure if they'd have different results.

Anavin, what you say matches what I experience with Japanese (except the missing characters, obviously) : Ryumin/Gothic are pleasant to use and the default font is sometimes, many times, way too small to read.
