You can get MS Office 2007 Home and Student for $109 at Amazon. The license allows for installation on 3 devices.

Here in the UK I know of several people who have signed up for extramural classes largely for the computer accounts, giving access to electronic resources such as Jstor. |

My work is through the Mayo Health System, so all our e-mail addresses are.edu, since we're technically a university. So I just have to take the photg course I've been looking at to get a deep discount on Office. Cool.

Of course, there are countries where agreeing with the EULA does not make it legally binding (such as Germany)... |

I managed to get it last year in the UK, but this years offer here has expired.
They will probably have a new offer out sometime in September when the new academic session starts. The good part about this is that it is the ultimate edition, with everything but the kitchen sink. The student edition is pretty basic and doesn't have things like outlook, access, etc. And no offence, Open office is no where near the functionality of MS Office. I did try using it for a while, but gave up after becoming frustrated with the formatting errors that would sometimes occur. |
