Hi, gang:
Ok, I'm on a quest. This is not to find a free font replacement, or anything like that; it's simply to FIND. THIS. FONT. I have spent over 10 hours looking. I've tried everything, from Identifont to you-name-it. I've looked at every sans serif and monospaced font at Ascender, and I've been through almost everything at Adobe. I'm attaching an image of it. This is not IN the font on that webpage, trust me. It's a sprite, damn them. I want this font for the elegance of the lines. Look at that "G" in Guy; it's lovely. I'd really like to find this. Yes, it has occurred to me that it's custom-made; that someone took something like Gill Sans or one of the others and modified it, but...the sleekness of the upswing on that G doesn't feel like a hacked/modded font. it feels like a font made by a real foundry. Here's a list of what it ISN'T:
Here's a list of close, but no cigar:
At the moment, I'm closest, IIRC, to using either Skirt Light or Polarband. I don't remember quite clearly, because I compiled that list at 4:00 a.m., after about...6 hours straight of looking at fonts, after 4 hours earlier in the day. Anyone recognize it? I'm asking here because it occurs to me that this might be a typeface not that common in the US, but perhaps more common in Europe. (It supports the breve e, and the website upon which I found it has a European base). Help greatly appreciated. Hitch Last edited by Hitch; 03-19-2014 at 03:46 PM. Have you posted your query to alt.binaries.fonts on USENET?
There are a lot of types of these questions there. |

Sure. It's www.absinthes.com, in the drop-down menus. As the images are named "deroulant," I suspect the site has a French root. But I've been all over it; everything from the CSS to the Sprite (the word-images, GUY, etc., are not actually in the sprite, they are individual images, e.g., http://www.absinthes.com/css/images/..._deroulant.jpg ), but I've tried identifont with the URL's and no joy.
The font seems to ONLY be used in those specific menu images; it is not to be found anywhere in the CSS nor the HTML, as far as I can tell. It feels like a Typodermic (or possibly a Red Rooster foundry) font, but so far, nothing. Thanks, Hitch |

The G has distinct features |

I've written to the web designer. We'll see. I still think it might be a custom-lettered font. Hitch |
