"Splash" screen

Is there any way to modify the poweroff/sleeping display screens so that I see an image when the Aura is powered off? I know I can display the last cover, but that's not really what I'm after . . . . I'd rather look at a pic of my kids than a blank screen with the words "Powered Off" :-)

No hack that I know of. As a more labour intensive solution, I think you can put a an image file onto the device, put it on your homepage, and switch to it before sleeping. (Might be useful for people who want to have, for example, a train map, too.)

ETA: Hm, or perhaps not. I think this used to work, though. Anyone? The only way I can get it to work (Aura, current firmware) is to create a blank book and put the image I want as the cover of that book.

KevinShort explains how to replace the power off image somewhere in the developer's corner. You can find my take of it in the kobo start menu. The relevant scripts are
Code:
mnt\onboard\.kobo\kbmenu\replacements\poweroff
mnt\onboard\.kobo\kbmenu\onstart\poweroff.sh
mnt\onboard\.kobo\kbmenu\scripts\activate\x_install_poweroff.sh
Modify them according to your needs, and adjust them to work without the start menu environment.

For replacing the sleep screen image see this short thread and the posts linked there.
