Emailing AZW3

Has there ever been any update to this? When I tried about 6 months ago, Amazon's Personal Document service wouldn't accept them.

You could use Calibre to converted to a mobi of type "both", but I found it resulted in no cover being shown on the Paperwhite.

Any updates?

What happens if you just change the extension from Azw3 to Mobi before emailing ?

They reject it as a corrupted file.

It needs to have a mobi segment in it, even if that segment has no content. There might be a way to customize calibre to do that, and I think I've seen a script floating around that will do it as well. But there's little harm in sending a hybrid file. It will use more of your cloud storage but you'll only get 'azw3' delivered to your device.

Yep, but "hybrid" files emailed don't display covers (or they display tiny covers).
