Interesting collection names?
Haven't seen a thread like this although I've been lurking extensively. Just today I realised there are two books on my PW that I detest, deeply. I paid for them, read them and was disgusted. Until a few minutes ago they were in "Read" and "Read in 2014" collections. But they deserve a special place, away from others. So I created a new collection called, freely translated, "Deep <insert offensive noun of your choice here>" as a revenge for my time, money and fried neurons. Deleting them wouldn't give me the same feeling.
Do you have some collections unusually called and perhaps care to share? Doesn't have to be a bad name, just curious. |

"Theoretically in Progress" holds the three to six books I'm supposedly really at any given point. Right now, it has one I put down a week ago, one from a month ago, and once I paused yesterday, and the one I just started instead. I don't know exactly when I'll get back to them, but I live in hope it will happen soon. Or eventually...
"Next in Line" holds ten or so TBRs that I want to keep a little more accessible than the rest of the TBR pile. Alas, I find I rarely end up pulling anything out of this one! "What's for dinner?" is for cookbooks. And "Anywhere but Here" is all travelogues. I used to have crazy names for most genres, but those slipped by the wayside at some point between device changes and reorganizing. |

I don't have a collection for them, but if I did, it'd simply be titled 'Unfinished'.
What is more insulting to a book than not even being able to finish it? ![]() |

I don't get hung up about books I don't like - I just delete them and move on. Life is too short to get stressed about it.

Somewhat off topic, but I remember being so happy after graduate school when at long last I could actually put down a book I didn't like and never have to finish it! I didn't have that option while in graduate school. Those were print books of course as that was back in the 1980s.
I too simply delete books from my devices which I don't like or don't care to finish. I always keep a copy of them on a computer though. I find it hard to throw away any books, even bad ones. |

Beowulf & Grendel It scores 5.9 on IMDB, so it shouldn't be THAT bad. I have enjoyed movies that scored under 5. Still, the best part of this movie is the music in the main menu. It's outstanding. The movie also starts promising, but about 20 minutes in, I had to turn it off. It's now on the "This is going to be given away, sold, or thrown out" shelf, along with other bad movies that were (just) good enough to actually finish. I don't have had that happen with a book yet, so I don't have a shelf or collection to hold them. |

This is a great thread!! Um, nothing interesting - Snippets and Samples since I came across send to Kindle browser plug in (rather than the email version).
But I love seeing how other people's minds work ![]() |

Sorry, just to add, if I found a book that infuriating I'd actually need to delete it. Also, a bit off topic, but are you a 'I've-started-so-I'll-damn-well-finish' reader. Or a 'to-hell-with-it-life's-too-short-and-why add-wasting-time-to-the-drag-of-wasting-money' type person. I'm the latter.

Sorry for late answer, me and the little one are both sick. I love the "Theoretically in progress" very adequate. Now I have to rename the collection where Michio Kaku book is sitting
![]() I normally put down a book when I don't like it, those two were short so I suffered till the end. They were indeed infuriating and now they are banished from decent company under a mean label. Luckily they were not too expensive. GoSharks, he was once put in a corner and my son was extremely happy about ![]() Pangolin I'm in Brussels, Belgium ![]() |

I put my books that I'm reading or plan to read soon in a collection named "!Nightstand."
The exclamation point is so it will be first alphabetically. And I used to have a collection for non-fiction called "It's Twue, It's Twue!" (I had been watching Blazing Saddles. ![]() Last edited by BenG; 01-24-2014 at 09:51 AM. |

I have a collection called git books. It was a series of very very short stories from smashwords by mark corn about a grumpy old man called mr git who has complained about stuff. Theres under 10 books in the series and he has complained about halloween, selfies and tv show big brother amongst other stuff.
