Cover Art Problem When Kobo Touch in Sleep Mode

I have just recently bought a Kobo Touch and am managing my books through Calibre.
I had no problems with the first book I read, but I have just started another book and I am having problems with the book cover.
The cover art displays fine on the home page, and also in the collection to which it has been allocated.
But unlike the first book which displayed it's cover art when I put the ebook reader to sleep, it only shows what seems to be a default white cover with the title of the book and underneath the format (epub)
I really liked the proper cover art showing when I wasn't using the Touch, so I really would like to sort this.
Has anyone else come across this, and if so, have they come across a way to rectify this problem?
Any help would be much appreciated!

This thread should help you - especially posts #3 and then the explanation with #5

If you send the book to the device from calibre, you can set both the "send covers" and "always send cover" option in the driver. This will copy the cover that calibre has to the device when you do a send.

Many thanks for your help Willa. However it didn't work.
The cover is being sent to the Kobo, as it is showing up fine on the home page and in the list of books in the collection it has been allocated to. Also when I open the book at the first page (the cover) it is fine. It's only when I power off the Kobo, the cover of the book I am reading should show as a "screensaver" but it doesn't. Only a "default" cover with the title of the book and format.
I know it is only a minor problem, but it is annoying...

There have been different problems with the covers in different versions of the firmware. What firmware version is the Touch running?

The firmware version - would that be the same as the software version? If that is, it's 3.0.1 - 644485e229 (21/11/13).

Is the book on the SD card or the main memory? 3.0.1 has a couple of strange bugs related to the SD card. I think there was a cover problem related to the card, but I can't remember and I don't have my Touch with me to check. But, I think it was one that would occasionally happen but the next book would be OK. I'll have A play when I get home and see if it happens.

And, Hi Willa! "Brains" and "smiling winsomely"! Are you still trying to get me into trouble?

Thanks David. Will check later - not sure if it's in the main memory or on the SD card.

Have checked - the first book I read was in the main memory, the book I'm reading now is on the SD card.
However now that I've found how to see how much of the main memory and the SD card have been used, I've realised that I didn't need the SD card (which I already had before I bought the Touch). The books obviously don't take up as much space as I thought they would, and I can easily get them all into the main memory with plenty of space to spare.
I'm wondering if I should just move everything over to the main memory in that case? Certainly I will move the book I'm reading over and see how it appears when I power off the Touch. Will report back!

Yes - deleted the book I was reading from the SD card and installed it in the main memory. Now when I power off my Touch, there's the nice cover art showing!
Thank you so much for the advice! Everyone is so helpful!
It was the same with my Marvin app on my iPad. I had a slight problem which was easily rectified with advice from the forum. In that case, it was from the developer of the app, which is even better.
Calibre advice is great as well, so really this should be everybody's first stop if they have any problems with their ereader, app or software...

Having exactly the same problem but as I've already had to do three factory resets (since Christmas), don't want to leave the books on the main memory and lose them when I'm somewhere where I can't just reload everything. Is there a fix? My wife never updated her firmware and hers works fine. Problem's not a deal breaker but it's annoying.

Ergh ... just when I think I've got stuff figured out ...

Brand new Glo, FW 3.1.1
I'm using Calibre.

I do not have an SD card installed, so all books are in main memory.

I initially loaded on some library books (using ADE). But, of course, no covers and no shelving.

I created "dummy" books in Calibre and added the covers and shelves.

Calibre matched everything up nicely ... my library books are in the "Library" collection/shelf and the proper covers show on the home screen and in the list ... but not in sleep mode.

I have the driver set to upload covers as suggested and metadata set to update automatically.

Is it because they are library books?

Is there another setting? Another step I'm missing?
