What the H-E-double-hockey-sticks is wrong with people?

Just what the hell is wrong with people? Did they get up on the stupid side of the bed in the morning? Does the get-a-clue bus not make stops on their street? Do they need to buy a vowel, or something?

Do they really not know who is in the kitchen with Dinah? Is stoopid the latest status symbol? Must I draw them a pretty picture for them to smell what's cooking?

Did they forget to add water to their sea-monkeys? Do they need someone to kiss their boo-boo and make it all better? I mean... WTF?

Did they overdose on stupid pills? Did the love they take, not, in fact, equal the love they make? Did they lead their horse to water and then drown it?

I mean its like... Q: How may people does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: 6 Billion, because they are so freaking dumb!

I am losing hope folks...

Did they really give at the office? Is the check actually in the mail? Is the person in the kitchen with Dinah strumming on an old banjo... or an old "dumbo"?

Earth to people, we have found no intelligent life forms.

Any manifestation of stupidity in particular prompted this diatribe?

Can we help? Bring you a blankie and a cup of tea, for you to relax when the realization sinks in? Because that feeling never really goes away, you know. You just have to live with it.

Well, if it's the American public... just look at what is on TV. There are so many "reality" (oh wait... they are saying.."it's not reality, it's actuality" now) and "World's dumbist.." programs that I've almost given up on any channels but SyFy, Nat Geo, and History Channel. It's scary to think that THAT is the current and next generation let loose on the world.

Sorry folks, it is just that I have found myself mumbling this diatribe almost constantly at work recently, and I just had to let it out.

As for "what the hell is wrong with people", I haven't a clue, but I think Dreams is on to something.

And as for the "Dinah" question

What you need, good sir, is a good quick exposure to something intelligent and creative by a few people who could think. You need something well beyond the daily norm. Something thoughtful, stimulating, and inspiring. Here are a few morsels for you. Take a couple and call me in the morning, if you haven't killed yourself.

Jacob Bronowski from The Ascent of Man:

Pablo Picasso's Guernica:

Mark Twain's Letters From The Earth:

Edward Elgar's Sospiri:

I actually liked that. Although I think I'm quite of another opinion than the diagnosis of Mr. Bronowski.
