Kobo page numbers
I have a Kobo glo and use Calibre to side load my books as Kobo-epubs.
At the bottom of the page I used to have "Chapter # Page 1 of 10" for example. I recently added a load of new books on my Kobo and now have "Page 1 of 154" where 154 appears to be a random number and it is as if the book has been divided into 3 parts and is similar to the numbering that I noticed on official Kepubs bought from Kobo when I first had the device. This is useless as I want to know how many pages I have until the end of the chapter. This has only happened with books that have recently loaded. All previously loaded books still have the number of pages in the chapter. Is this a feature of the new version of Calibre or is there a setting that I have missed somewhere? Thanks Karon |

If they are kepubs, it could be that there is more than one chapter per file. The number of pages in the chapter is actually the number of pages in the file, but in most books there is one chapter per file, so it amounts to the same thing.
However some publishers put more than one chapter into each file, some even put the whole book into one file. Then the number of pages per file will not match the number per chapter. The book will also be slower to navigate if the files are too large. This sort of mistake can be fixed by doing an epub to epub conversion in Calibre, which will split the files up into one per chapter. |

Thanks Geoff. We have done another epub to epub conversion and forced it to put in a table of contents and that seems to have worked.
Hopefully that is the only book with the problem and not the 400 odd books I loaded on to the Kobo the other day. |
