Having trouble using widgets

I tried using a widget from fictfact, they gave me the HTML for the widget so I pasted that in my sig line on these forums and the only thing I got was the HTML code listed in my sig line not the widget. What am I doing wrong?

Because this forum doesn't support html, plus it appears you just provided a link. If your current sig is the one you have a problem with.

And when I tried to follow the link I was told, Sorry, this is a private list.

Some people have a ticker for their reading goals in their sig, the reason it works is because they embedded an image that their site generated. If the fictfact widget can generate a picture, that is probably the way to go. Make sure it doesn't require logging in.

When I go to ticker factory and create a ticker using their wizard, I cut and paste the BB Code from that site to my sig line here and that works very well. Am I seeing that these boards support BB Code?

Precisely. If you look at the editor toolbar, you will see it just wraps stuff in bbcode. Supported bbcode list: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode

Thanks! I want to use the "Books I have read" or is it "Book Challenge" that measures the books you read while you slowly reach your goal towards 50 books (or more). I've seen some users in mobiread have that in their signature. Does anyone know what to paste in the signature so it goes to look like that?

Create a ticker here: http://tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ti...er.php?type=14

And they will give you a png that you can embed anywhere you want, they will give you some BBCode to paste in, as well as html for the other forums, that allow html.

It will include a link to the configuration page, thus allowing you to update your count. (You must remember your PIN so you can edit it.)
