Itunes Libray '0' Books

My iTunes device is showing up in Calibre however when I connect with iTunes it tells me '0' books. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'm sure it is just a missed/unchecked box somewhere.

Thanks,

What do you mean by "iTunes device" - I'm guessing an iPad or iTouch or iPhone, but which? What operating system is on your device, and on your computer? What ebooks do you have, what format are they in, where did you get them from, where are they now (in Calibre, I'm guessing?), and what do you want to do with them now - I'm guessing get them onto your device? What app do you want to read your books in on your device?

Have you read this thread?

and this one?

Yes I have worked through those threads and they were very useful in getting to the point where my devise was recognized by Celibre.

IPhone software version 7.0.4
ITunes version 11.1.4.62
computer op system windows 8
All of my books are on my IPhone located in Ibooks.
My goal is to transfer books from my IPhone into caliber for easier reading.
my book data from the IPhone is stored in C:\Users\Justin\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media

I have managed to transfer the quick start guide over to ITunes however there still is no communication between Calibre and my IPhone, what am I missing?

Thanks,

Calibre provides no capabilities that will allow books to be copied from the iBooks libraries on the iDevices to Calibre - communication is only the other way.

Isn't it iBooks that doesn't provide the capabilities? calibre would be happy to do so --if only Apple let it.

I agree the limitations are on the Apple side, but the end effect is the same - one way transfer.

If these are iBooks that you bought from Apple, you can't do that, as others have said.

If you bought the books elsewhere and have put them into iBooks in the past, you may still be able to get those books from the store you originally bought them from, or from your backup, and put them in Calibre that way.

Thanks for feedback, no problem, I can just purchase books elsewhere and upload as needed via Calibre. I am having a good time exploring this software.

Again thanks for the help.

Install the "iOS Reader Applications" plugin. It makes an iPad as easy to use with Calibre as any normal USB device.
